April 16 (UPI) — Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo will group up yet again on a Disney film about Cinderella’s evil stepsisters.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Friday that Wiig and Mumolo will produce a stay-action musical comedy centering on the figures Anastasia and Drizella.
The new motion picture is a reimagining of the Cinderella fairytale, which Disney previously tailored as a 1950 animated film.
Deadline said it is unidentified no matter if Wiig and Mumolo will also star in the movie. Resources stated the stepsisters will be played by youthful actresses.
The movie will observe Anastasia and Drizella from their early childhood to Cinderella’s marriage and over and above. The sisters will battle to uphold their family’s legacy.
Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum will government produce.
Disney has unveiled or is producing other standalone assignments centering on villains, such as Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, Cruella, starring Emma Stone, and Gaston and LeFou, starring Luke Evans and Josh Gad.
Wiig and Mumolo earlier collaborated on the 2011 movie Bridesmaids and most lately wrote, executive generated and starred in Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.
